Learning The Language Of Canines

Building a bond with a dog starts with understanding what they need to survive;

They need a decision maker, what happens when and where.

A protector, to keep them safe from perceived danger.

A provider of food and shelter.

Although most of us do this well as humans, the dog may question how we do it, if we do not provide the answer in a way the dog understands, the dog’s questions, can become what we call “bad behaviour” When we learn how to identify the questions and provide the dog with a kind calm answer, the dog can get on with being a dog, enjoy playing, going for walks and just being a happy relaxed dog.

This is easier to achieve than it may sound, and anyone can learn to do it. Dogs learn from us every second of the day, small changes in the way we do things around our dogs can make a big difference, and give them the life they deserve.

A happy relaxed dog is also one who will co-operate and be willing to learn, this is a good foundation for any further training, for example obedience, agility, sheep dog, gun dog or assistance dog.
